Question:

465 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the proposals, if any, for the provision of extra facilities at national schools level in County Kildare in 2000 with particular reference to school buildings; the number of pupils to be facilitated by these proposals; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3525/00]

The information requested by the Deputy is not readily available. The provision of extra facilities at national schools depends on a number of factors such as the completion of architectural design, planning permission, etc. In so far as is possible, it is intended to allow pro jects which have completed architectural design and for which tenders have been sought to proceed to construction.
