111 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans, if any, he has to act on the recommendation of the Higher Education Authority that asylum seekers should be given the right to study after six months in the State; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3185/00]

The study referred to by the Deputy was published last November by the higher education equality unit, which is funded by the Higher Education Authority. I have asked the Higher Education Authority to advise me on the issues raised in the report.
