116 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Education and Science the number awaiting placement in special schools; the waiting period for enrolment in special schools in Dublin 3, 5 and 9; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3075/00]
The enrolment of pupils is a matter in the first instance for individual schools and parents and guardians. Accordingly, the information requested by the Deputy is not available in my Department. My Department assists in this pro cess as far as possible by the provision of additional staffing or accommodation resources where appropriate.
If the Deputy is aware of a particular enrolment difficulty, I will be glad to have it investigated by my Department.
