138 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will make a provision for teachers on VEC panels a priority when it comes to filling extra teaching posts; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3175/00]

The creation of additional teaching posts in the next school year was recently announced. Permanent posts arising in the vocational sector as result of this announcement will be filled in the normal way, namely through public competition.
