187 Mr. Power asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his views on the number of planners who are leaving their jobs with local authorities; if he will make suggestions to local authorities on the way in which they might deal with the problem; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer to the reply to Question No. 95 of 26 January 2000. The position remains unchanged. My Department does not compile and does not have available information on the number of vacancies for professional planners in local authority planning departments.
