99 Mr. McDowell asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the position regarding the claim against the State by Anglo-Irish Beef Processors in view of a decision to cancel certain export credit insurance; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3501/00]

In 1989 proceedings were initiated by Anglo-Irish Beef Processors International Limited against the State in response to a decision by the Minister to void certain export credit cover. The plaintiffs lodged an amended statement of claim in 1995. Pleadings in the case have not yet been finalised.
