176 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will ensure that a person (details supplied) in County Sligo is immediately called for his operation; if he will make a favourable decision in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3911/00]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Sligo is the statutory responsibility of the North Western Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
