Vol. 514 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

213 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry who is in considerable pain has been waiting since November 1999 for a knee replacement operation at St Mary's orthopaedic hospital, Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4178/00]

The provision of hospital services in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Southern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the Southern Health Board to investigate this matter and reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
