133 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Defence if he has sanctioned the general service enlistment campaign for 2000; the plans, if any, he has in relation to this campaign; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4786/00]

I propose to maintain the now established policy of continuous recruitment to the Defence Forces in the year 2000. In this regard, specific proposals for general service recruitment for the year 2000 are currently being examined within my Department.
