Vol. 515 No. 1

Written Answers. - Community Pharmacy Services.

Enda Kenny

Question:

162 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Health and Children the arrangements, if any, which exist for the dispensing of drugs and medicines on a daily and weekly basis to pilgrims and locals in the Knock community area, County Mayo; the level of further remuneration paid as a result of this practice; and if he will make a statement on the number of prescriptions or incidences of medicines being dispensed in each of the past two years. [5399/00]

Community pharmacy services are available to the people of Knock at Kilkelly and Claremorris. I am not aware of any further level of remuneration resulting from the use by patients of community pharmacy services in these locations. The information sought by the Deputy on the number of prescriptions dispensed in community pharmacies in the general area of Knock in respect of people with addresses in Knock and in respect of pilgrims from throughout the country is not readily available.
