Vol. 515 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Brendan Kenneally

Question:

116 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when the last instalment of 1999 ewe premium will be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5717/00]

Payment of the final instalment will be made within a week of the regulation authorising payment being published in Brussels. I understand publication of the regulation is imminent.

Jim Higgins

Question:

117 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason for the delay in the payment of headage, area aid and REP scheme grant to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [5718/00]

The person named did not originally supply all the maps necessary to support his 1999 area aid application. However, he was contacted regarding this and has now supplied further details to support his claim. These details are currently being entered on the Department's electronic database. Payments have already issued based on a reduced figure. Any further payments due will issue as soon as this process is completed.

The applicant's fifth year REPS payment has been chosen at random for a pre-payment inspection. Arrangements are being made to have the inspection carried out as soon as possible but no payment can issue until the inspection has taken place.
