Question:

183 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children the bed and category complement envisaged for Naas General Hospital when completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5749/00]

On completion of the capital development at Naas General Hospital the hospital will have a total bed complement of 189 medical, surgical and other beds, including 25 day beds and 30 acute psychiatric beds.

The designation of hospital beds into medical, surgical or other categories will be a matter for the management of the hospital concerned and will be subject to service demand.
