221 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received correspondence from a school (details supplied) in County Westmeath in relation to car parking and road safety at the school; if so, if his Department has assessed this correspondence and assist to overcome the difficulties experienced for pupils, teachers and parents and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has recently received an application from the board of management of the school in question for funding in respect of safety issues and this is currently being assessed.

The planning and building unit of my Department will be in contact with the school authorities as quickly as possible.
