199 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will intervene in a situation where a person (details supplied) in County Kildare has been awaiting a hip replacement operation for quite some time in view of the urgency of the case. [5940/00]

The scheduling of orthopaedic procedures in this case is the responsibility, in the first instance, of Cappagh Orthopaedic Hospital. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate this matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
