277 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the position with regard to reports in a newspaper (details supplied) that the Government is considering changes to the Broadcasting Bill, 1999, as presented in regard to the privatisation of the transmission system of RTE; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I refer the Deputy to the Adjournment Debate of 23 February 2000 on the newspaper reports in question during which the Minister of State, Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív, indicated that no changes of the nature referred to in the question have, to date, been proposed to Government.
