Vol. 515 No. 3

Written Answers. - Road Traffic Accidents.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

281 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the age profile of drivers of motor vehicles fatally injured in road accidents in each of the past three years for which figures are available; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6094/00]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that detailed statistics in relation to the number of death and injuries on Irish roads are provided by the National Roads Authority, St. Martin's House, Waterloo Road, Dublin 4. Details in relation to all road accidents reported to the Garda authorities are supplied by them to the National Roads Authority, and a detailed report on road accidents entitled Road Accident Facts is prepared and published by that authority. The most recent report is in respect of 1998.
