Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Liam Aylward

Question:

86 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the number of animals applied for and the number eligible for payment to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow; and the amount paid under the 1999 suckler cow and beef cow schemes. [6352/00]

The person named applied for premium on 11 animals under the 1999 suckler cow premium scheme and for 11 animals under the 1999 beef cow scheme on 28 May 1999.

At an inspection carried out on 11 November 1999, it was found that two animals applied on had lost their tags and were subsequently deleted from the claim without a penalty being applied, and a third animal declared on the application as an eligible breed was found to be ineligible. Accordingly the number of eligible animals found was eight. In accordance with the EU regulations, a penalty was applied in respect of the eligible animals.

The amount paid in respect of the 1999 beef cow application was £533.34 and the amount paid in respect of the 1999 suckler cow premium scheme was £1,019.88.
