39 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands when the management of the National Museum will finalise proposals for extended opening hours and particularly the question of opening on bank holiday Mondays; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6302/00]

The management of the national museum is in the process of completing proposals for extended opening hours at the museum including the question of opening on bank holiday Mondays. I am informed that these proposals will be finalised in the very near future when they will be submitted to my Department for consideration.
