Vol. 515 No. 5

Written Answers. - Housing Aid for the Elderly.

Liz McManus

Question:

64 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of applicants in County Wicklow who applied for the home improvements scheme for the elderly administered by the health board; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6455/00]

As the Deputy may be aware, the housing aid scheme for the elderly is operated by the health boards on behalf of the Department of Environment and Local Government. In the Wicklow area, the Eastern Regional Health Authority has responsibility for the operation of the scheme.

I have asked the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to examine this issue as a matter of urgency and reply directly to the Deputy.
