275 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he has given commitments to provide funding for the construction of a new swimming pool in Cobh, County Cork, before the end of 2000; the further plans, if any, he has in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The contract documents for the proposed construction of a new swimming pool in Cobh, are currently being examined by my Department's technical advisers. On completion of this process, my Department will then consider if the project is ready to advance to the seeking of tender stage. Should the project advance to tender, the question of committing funds will be assessed within the context of tenders received, applications for other new pools and availability of funds for the swimming pool programme.
