I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Upton – the need to devise a programme of food safety training for all prospective workers in the food industry in light of the salmonella outbreak in Louth, Meath and Cavan; (2) Deputy O'Shea – the deteriorating situation in relation to archaeological referrals at Dúchas; (3) Deputy Wall – the latest developments on the White Paper on Defence; (4) Deputy Finucane – the inclusion of Newcastle West as a location for decentralisation of a Department; and (5) Deputy Jim Higgins – the need to establish a statutory inquiry in view of the fact that the Dublin City Coroner and the Garda were not notified by Our Lady's Hospital, Crumlin, of the deaths of two children (details supplied).

The matters raised by Deputies Wall, Finucane, Upton and Jim Higgins have been selected for discussion.
