Vol. 516 No. 2

Written Answers. - Freedom of Information.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

62 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Education and Science his views on the decision of the North Eastern Health Board to disclose assessment reports under the Freedom of Information Act, 1997; and the implications, if any, of this on the stance previously taken by his Department. [7132/00]

The policy of the psychological service of my Department before the establishment of the national educational psychological service was to disclose the content of assessment reports to parents on request. This is also the present policy of the national educational psychological service. It would not be appropriate for me to comment on the policy of a health board in relation to the disclosure of assessment reports.
