Vol. 516 No. 4

Written Answers. - Harbours and Piers.

Billy Timmins

Question:

36 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the works carried out to date in Bray Harbour, County Wicklow; the works which remain to be carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8218/00]

Phase I of the Bray coastal protection scheme, which involved the construction of a breakwater and groyne, commenced in 1998 and was completed last year. Phase III of the scheme, which comprises repairs to the harbour wall, commenced in 1999 and is scheduled to be completed this year. I have also made provision in the coastal protection programme for 2000 for funding for phase II of the scheme which will address beach renourishment.
