Vol. 516 No. 5

Written Answers. - Cycling Promotion.

Question:

171 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the steps, if any, his Department has taken to encourage members of staff to cycle to work; and if he will consider a cycling allowance to promote cycling. [8626/00]

All Department buildings have secure parking facilities for bicycles. As it is not the practice to pay travel costs to staff to attend work my Department has no proposal to pay a cycling allowance.
