Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Upton – the urgent steps needed to be taken to give access to apprentices for the third level part of their training; (2) Deputy Lawlor – the issue of the acquisition by the State of the historic Anna Liffey Mills and its development as a major cultural and tourism centre; (3) Deputy Coveney – the need for the Government to respond to the fact that many young people are using recreational drugs, particularly Ecstacy tablets; (4) Deputy Shortall – the urgent need to respond to ICTU survey results on the employment of school going children by ensuring that the Protection of Young Persons (Employment) Act, 1996, is fully enforced; (5) Deputy Flanagan – the need for a comprehensive inquiry into allegations of collusion between members of the Garda Síochána and terrorists in the Border area in the 1980s and 1990s; (6) Deputy Ring – the increase in the waiting list for orthodontic treatment in the Western Health Board region; (7) Deputy Theresa Ahearn – the lack of respite for people with disabilities in south Tipperary with particular reference to a person (details supplied).

The matters raised by Deputies Shortall, Coveney, Theresa Ahearn and Upton have been selected for discussion.
