Vol. 517 No. 1

Written Answers. - Teleworking Scheme.

John Bruton

Question:

103 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs when he will introduce teleworking operations into the mainstream public service employments under his aegis in accordance with the commitment given by the Government in its Programme for Prosperity and Fairness; and if he will make a statement on the changes required in each of the agencies under his aegis to fulfil this commitment by the Government. [9277/00]

I understand that the Minister for Finance will reply to the Deputy's question in so far as it relates to civil servants, including those in my Department. The State agencies which come under the aegis of the Department will, in accordance with the programme, give consideration to the practicalities of introducing the option of teleworking in the context of the services which they provide.
