Written Answers. - Mobile Phone Services.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

118 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she has satisfied herself with the quality of mobile phone services; if the degree of service is in accordance with the levels of service sought and anticipated in the course of legislation passed in recent years; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9342/00]

The mobile telecommunications operators are required to comply with quality of service conditions laid down by the Director of Telecommunications Regulation. These conditions are specified in their telecommunications licences. It is a function of the director to monitor compliance with these conditions.
