Question:

101 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Finance the revenue generated by vehicle registration tax for each month in 2000 and for the same period in 1995 and 1990; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9434/00]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the total amount of vehicle registration tax charged in the months of January and February of the years 1995 and 2000 is as follows:

£47.8 m

£148.2 m

February

£35.2 m

£106.6 m

The figure for March 2000 is not yet available. A monthly breakdown of motor vehicle excise duty which was chargeable in 1990 is not available.
