Vol. 517 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Bernard Allen

Question:

218 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the steps, if any, being taken in relation to a situation where European Union red tape has delayed delivery of a vital piece of neuro-surgical equipment for the treatment of Parkinson's disease at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, in view of the fact that this is the third time that this has happened. [9995/00]

he matter raised by the Deputy became the responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority on 1 March, 2000. I have, therefore, asked the regional chief executive officer to investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
