Question:

435 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education and Science the steps, if any, he is taking to have a school (details supplied) in County Meath completed; when will work commence; the completion date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10798/00]

Architectural planning for the school in question is nearing completion and the project will proceed to tender as soon as the tender documentation is ready.

436 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department has completed the planning and design of the prototype gym which will be used by schools which qualify for such a facility; if so, when such a gym will be provided to a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; the steps the school can take to speed up or assist in the process; and if the commitment given in 1999 to the school in relation to the gym will be processed as a matter of urgency. While the architectural planning of a prototype physical education hall is well advanced, it has not yet been fully completed.

The school to which the Deputy refers has requested additional accommodation. The school's application for the provision of a physical education hall will be addressed as part of the school's overall accommodation needs.

437 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress, if any, in relation to the provision of a gym for a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; the current position in this regard; and when construction will commence. [10817/00]

An application for the provision of a physical education hall at the school to which the Deputy refers has been received within my Department. The application is under consideration presently.
