Question:151 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the progress on the provision of a cable car to Inisbiggle, County Mayo; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10991/00]
Written Answers. - Cable-car Project.
I recently received Department of Finance sanction to allow Mayo County Council to proceed with the planning and development of the Inishbiggle cable-car project at an estimated cost of £1.6 million. Arising from this, a feasibility study on the project has now been completed on Mayo County Council's behalf by engineering consultants, and is due to be placed before the elected members of Mayo County Council for consideration this week.
I would like to assure the Deputy of my continued commitment to this project and that every effort is being made to progress it as speedily as possible.
