My Department is carrying out a review of the Arts Acts, 1951 and 1973, as to their effectiveness in facilitating the provision of necessary support for the ongoing development of the arts in the new millennium and will publish a discussion paper on the subject in the near future. This review will incorporate an examination of the effectiveness of current structures, including membership size, of the Arts Council.
