84 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the number of archaeologists who have taken up temporary positions with Dúchas since these positions were advertised in February 2000; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10918/00]

Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands (Miss de Valera)

No appointments have been made yet. Officials of my Department are currently shortlisting the large number of applications received with a view to arranging interviews and I am hopeful that offers of appointment can be made in the near future.
