Vol. 518 No. 2

Written Answers. - Internet Advisory Board.

Michael Bell

Question:

31 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the terms of reference of the recently established Internet Advisory Board; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11187/00]

The Internet Advisory Board is a non-statutory body established in March, 2000, with a general remit to monitor and oversee the self-regulation structures recommended by the working group on the illegal and harmful use of the Internet, whose report was published in July 1998.

The board has no formal terms of reference, but its functions within the above general remit are set out in the report.
