285 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of national schools in County Kildare which he will improve, extend and upgrade in the near future; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12034/00]
The allocation of funding to capital projects depends on factors such as the rate of progress of architectural design, site acquisition, the granting of planning permission and the outcome of the tender competition. Delays can arise at any point in the process, consequently, it is not possible to say how many schools will be granted-aided, in the near future, from the annual capital allocation.
