Vol. 518 No. 5

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

161 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has sought details or proposals from Kildare County Council in respect of its proposals for provision of private sites or affordable houses in 2000; if he has any knowledge as to the timetable and number of houses or sites involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12261/00]

In relation to the provision of affordable housing in Kildare, I refer the Deputy to my reply to Questions Nos. 247, 248 and 249 of 29 February 2000. The position has not changed.

Details of activity under social housing schemes are requested on a quarterly basis from all local authorities, including Kildare and are published on a quarterly and annual basis in my Department's quarterly and annual housing statistics bulletin, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library. These details include the private sites scheme and commencing with the March 2000 quarterly bulletin will also include details of the affordable housing scheme.
