49 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will give details of the agreement she reached with the equine industry regarding the allocation of work permits to the sector; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10388/00]

My Department has not reached any agreement with the equine industry regarding the allocation of work permits to the sector. Applications from specific employers in the industry to employ non-European economic area nationals will continue to be examined by my Department on their individual merits.
