Question:94 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he will list any public contracts awarded by his Department to a company (details supplied); the full list of such contracts; the purpose for which they were awarded; if the tax clearance requirements for public contracts were complied with in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The company in question was awarded three separate contracts by this Department. The dates of the contracts are as follows; 1 October 1990 to 31 December 1990; 1 January 1991 to 31 December 1991; 1 January 1992 to 14 February 1992.
The contracts were awarded for the purpose of providing a public relations service to the Department.
These contracts were in a value category for which a requirement to provide tax clearance certificates only came into effect on 1 September 1991. Tax clearance certificates were provided covering the period of the consultancies from 30 September 1991.
