Vol. 518 No. 6

Written Answers. - Sheepmeat Exports.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

215 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason Irish mutton cannot be sold in Saudi Arabia. [12590/00]

There are no restrictions on the export of Irish mutton to Saudi Arabia. However, the absence of export refunds, which do not apply in the sheep sector, affects the competitiveness of Irish sheepmeat on third country markets.
