Vol. 518 No. 6

Written Answers. - Teagasc Research Activities.

John Bruton

Question:

223 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development his response to the recommendation of the agri food 2010 group that Teagasc should consider the possibility of concentrating production research at fewer locations in order to achieve critical mass in these research activities. [12885/00]

This recommendation is a matter for Teagasc to consider. As I have already announced, I am now undertaking a round of consultations with the relevant organisations on the findings and recommendations of the Agri Food 2010 Committee. I will make a definitive response to the report when these consultations are completed.
