Vol. 518 No. 6

Written Answers. - DIRT Inquiry Report.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

264 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Finance if the Report of the Committee of Public Accounts into DIRT has been submitted to the National Bureau of Fraud Investigation and to the Director of Public Prosecutions; and if not, when he intends to take this action. [13145/00]

I have no proposals to refer the report of the sub-committee to the DPP or to the National Bureau of Fraud Investigation. The sub-committee itself made no recommendation to this effect in its report. As the Deputy is aware, the recommendations in the report of the sub-committee are being actively pursued and a number of those have already been given effect to in the Finance Act, 2000.
