Vol. 518 No. 6

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

John McGuinness

Question:

311 Mr. J. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in providing a place at Waterford Regional Hospital for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who has been waiting almost three years for a toe operation and is a public patient in the South Eastern Health Board area; and if he will expedite her case. [12579/00]

The provision of medical treatment for eligible persons in County Kilkenny in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
