Vol. 518 No. 6

Written Answers. - Health Service Capital Developments.

John Perry

Question:

328 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children the progress made on the provision of a new health centre in Coolaney, County Sligo; the amount of money allocated; when the work will commence on this facility; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12775/00]

The source of funding for health service capital developments, including health centres, is the funding available under the national development plan. Each health board was notified of indicative figures with regard to the distribution of NDP funding being made available under the plan and requested to produce a draft development plan specifying its prioritised lists of projects-initiatives within the various care programmes.

The draft development plan has been received from the North Western Health Board, the board responsible for the provision of health centres in County Sligo. The board's draft development plan is currently being examined in my Department in consultation with the board. The board will be notified of the outcome of this examination in the near future.
