Vol. 518 No. 6

Written Answers. - Post-Nuptial Citizenship.

Michael Creed

Question:

463 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will issue post nuptial citizenship to a person (details supplied). [12353/00]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that a certificate of post-nuptial citizenship for the person referred to issued from my Department on 14 April 2000. In cases such as this, where a person is resident outside the State, the application is made with the Department of Foreign Affairs through an Irish embassy or consulate abroad. The certificate, when issued, is forwarded to the applicant via the Department of Foreign Affairs.
