Question:586 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will list the schools in County Meath that obtained grants under the scheme for the teaching of science in primary schools. [12889/00]

The science grant referred to by the Deputy was issued to all primary schools in October 1999 including all primary schools in County Meath. My Department also issued a circular to all schools at the time which outlined the types of materials that should be purchased by schools with the grant. The amount of the grant varied according to the size of the school and ranged from a minimum grant of £400 to a maximum grant of £1,000.
