Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Joe Higgins

Question:

601 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans, if any, he has to acquire a five acre reserved site, located near Porterstown Church, Clonsilla, Dublin 15, to begin the process of establishing a primary school for September 2000. [13040/00]

A formal application for a new Catholic primary school in the parish of St. Mochta, Porterstown-Clonsilla, Dublin 15, has recently been received in my Department. The application is currently being examined in the planning section of my Department and a report in the matter has been sought from the inspector for the area. On receipt and consideration of the inspector's report, a decision on the application will be taken as quickly as possible.

The question of acquiring a site will depend upon the outcome.
