Question:

96 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the compensation paid by the owners of the mv Friesland following a collision on 22 January 2000 between this vessel and the Spanish fishing vessel Jose Luisa Mary. [12904/00]

Compensation of £14,908 has been paid by the owners of the mv Friesland in settlement of an invoice issued by my Department following an incident on 22 January 2000 involved that vessel and another. This amount is made up of staff costs including travel and subsistence, Inmarsat link calls and contracted aerial surveillance.
