Vol. 519 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Michael Ring

Question:

172 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not been given an appointment for an ear, nose and throat clinic in view of the fact that he has waited over nineteen months already and is in extreme discomfort. [13502/00]

The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
