Vol. 519 No. 2

Written Answers. - Nuclear Plants.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

66 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the prospects for litigation against Sellafield following the publication of the nuclear installations report of 18 February 2000; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [13395/00]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to a priority question on 29 March 2000, when I said that the Attorney General is currently examining the prospects for litigation against Sellafield following the publication of the nuclear installations inspectorate's reports of 18 February last.

The position remains unchanged. The Attorney General's examination is continuing. As I mentioned in that reply the question of litigation is a complex one. It requires detailed and careful consideration.
