Vol. 519 No. 3

Written Answers - Physiotherapy Service.

Jim Higgins

Question:

178 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of physiotherapists available for patients at the Mayo General Hospital, Swinford District Hospital and Ballina District Hospital for both hospital patients and out-patients. [13884/00]

The following data are from the most recent health service personnel census of 31 December 1998. The census for 31 December 1999 is currently being collected. The identification of staffing requirements and the deployment of staff within the overall financial and employment levels set by my Department is a matter for the management of each health agency, in this case the Western Health Board.
